The Project
A Tester’s Toolkit is an attempt to support anyone curious about software testing and quality engineering with valuable tools, lessons learned and perspectives.
Much of my career has been built on what other experienced professionals have shared with me. I feel it is now time to do the same for others.
The Author
I graduated as a software engineer and decided to pursue a career in software testing. Since then I have worked in the areas of e-commerce, banking, taxation, security, and public transport.
For me, testing is learning through exploration and experimentation. Because learning is such a motivating factor, I am fascinated by complex systems, technologies and domains.
I focus not only on testing software, but also on the entire development process, including the people involved and the technology stack. I try to have a positive and lasting impact on organisations, teams, people and processes. My experience as a scrum master and project manager helps me to do this.
Want to know more about me? I wrote a post about what motivates me.

Some of the people I have met and worked with during my career have had a significant impact. I would like to thank them.
James Marcus Bach and Michael Bolton, who helped me with their blog posts in the early years when I was inexperienced and without guidance.
Ilari Henrik Aegerter, who introduced me to the Context Driven Testing community and to many skilled software testers in Switzerland and around the world.
Richard Bradshaw and Mark Winteringham for showing me what excellent test automation can look like.
Sandro Ibig, who challenged my thoughts on testing and continues to do so.
Alex(andra) Schladebeck, who showed me that testers can grow beyond their role and even become CEOs.
Katrina Clokie, author of Testing in DevOps, who taught me the importance of operations.
Erol Koç, who has been a mentor to me in the areas of team leadership and project management.
